Vaishno Devi is a prominent Hindu shrine dedicated to the Mata Vaishno Devi, a manifestation of Mahakali, Mahalakshmi, and Mahasarasvati. The temple is situated at Trikuta mountain at 5,000 feet / 1,500 meters elevation in Katra, Jammu and Kashmir. This temple is one of the 108 Shakti Peethas, which are believed to be places where parts of the goddess Sati’s body fell.
However, Vaishno Devi is one of northern India’s most popular and significant pilgrim sites. It is also known as the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Mandir and Vaishno Devi Bhavan. About Mata Vaishno Devi Temple
Vaishno Devi Temple is dedicated to Maa Vaishno Devi. It is one of the most visited pilgrimage centers in India. Every year, millions of visitors visit the temple. During festivals like Navaratri, the count increases to 10 million (one crore) visitors. The temple is considered one of the richest temples in India. Many prominent saints, such as Vivekananda have visited the temple. As per the Historical facts, Vaishno Devi Mandir was in existence by 1846, when Maharaja Gulab Singh established the Dharmarth Trust to manage several temples in his territory.
The temple is one of the ancient Hindi Mandir and pilgrimage centers for those who worshipped the Maa Durga and Lakshmi together. This Temple is managed by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) and has been chaired by the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir since August 1986.

Vaishno Devi Pooja/ Aarti Schedule
In the Maa Vaishno Devi Temple, the ‘Aarti’ of the Goddess is performed twice a day, the first time in the morning just before sunrise and the second time in the evening immediately after sunset. The procedure of ‘Aarti’ is a very sacred and lengthy one.
