Let us tell you the Jhandewalan Temple was discovered by a famous textile merchant named Bhagat Badri Dass during the 18th Century. He often visited the Delhi Ridge of the Aravalli range, which was covered with flora and fauna. While digging near the waterfall, he found the idol of Jhandewali Mata and a stone Shivlinga with a carving of a snake. Das built a temple at the same place. Now the temple is run and maintained by the Badri Bhagat Jhandewalan Temple Society Trust, named after the founder.

The Jhandewalan Mandir is the most prominent place for the devotees of Vaishno Devi. This temple is a centre of attraction for Hindu devotees and tourists as well, because of its historical values. It is managed and regulated by the governing body, Badri Bhagat Jahndewaaln Temple Society. The trust sets all the rules and regulations for the temple. Jhandewalan Mandir opens daily for devotees between 06:00 AM to 09:30 PM. On the occasion of Navratri Temple opens from 04:00 AM to 12:00 AM.

NOTE: During Navratras, the temple opens at 4:00 AM and closes at noon. The temple remains closed for cleaning from 6:15 PM to 7:00 PM. Shringar Aarti is performed only at 4:00 AM and 7:00 PM.
