Shree Jagannath Temple is one of the most popular and oldest temples in India located in Puri Odisha. The Temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. This is also a part of the Char Dham Yatra and is believed to be one of the largest Hindu temples in the world. Jagannath Temple is dedicated to Lord Jagannath a form of Lord Vishnu and it was built by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva. One of the unique features of the Temple is that it has no idol or image of the deities instead, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Subhadra are made of wood and are replaced every 12 years in a ritual called Navakalevara.

This Hindu Mandir is also known for its Rath Yatra festival wherein deities are taken out in a procession on chariots. Devotees visiting Jagannath temple should also strictly adhere to the dress code. For Men only Dhoti and Kurta-Pajama should be worn while Salwar-Kameez is preferred for women. The temple administration doesn’t allow any Western like jeans or skirts and this dress code is followed strictly while keeping in mind the sanctity of the temple both towards the deities and the sacred place.
