The Temple is dedicated to the Lord Venkateswara, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is considered a spiritual alternative to the famous Tirupati temple and is also treated as a small Tirupati.
The Dwaraka Tirumala Temple is unique for housing two idols of Lord Venkateswara: a self-manifested idol and a second idol installed for complete worship. The origin of the temple is associated with Sage Dwaraka, who is believed to have discovered this idol after intense penance. Dwaraka Tirumala Temple Darshan Timings
Sri Venkateswara Temple is one of the sacred shrines in the Dwarak Tirumala. The Shrine attracts around 50 lakh devotees annually, with daily pilgrim counts reaching up to 40,000 on auspicious days. The credit for the construction of the major structures including the vimana, mandapa, gopura and prakara goes to Dharma Appa Rao, a ruler who ruled from 1762 to 1827.
Additionally, gold ornaments and silver vahanas were donated to the temple by Rani Chinnamma Rao, the queen of Mylavaram in Krishna district, who ruled from 1877 to 1902. These contributions added to the grandeur of the temple to a great extent. The temple is managed and regulated by the Sri Venkateswara Swami Vari Devasthanam.
