One of the most popular Shivism temples, Baba Baidyanath Dham, is located in Deoghar, in the Santhal Parganas division of the Jharkhand state. The temple is one of the prominent Hindu shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple complex comprises the central shrine of Baba Baidyanath along with 21 additional temples. This temple is significant to the Hindu sects of Shaivism because it is referred to as one of the twelve Jyotirlingas.
Shree Baba Baidyanath Jyotirlinga Mandir was built by Raja Puran Mal, the king of Gidhaur in the 16th century. The temple is one of the famous pilgrimage sites in Jharkhand. People visit this temple to worship and get the blessing of the Lord Shiva. On the special occasion of Maha Shivaratri and Shravani Mela, a huge crowd appears in the temple for the worship of Lord Shiva.
