Arunachalam Temple Giri Pradakshina

Giri Pradakshina also known as the Girivalam is an important ritual, which is mainly performed on the Full Moon Day of the year. Every full moon, thousands of pilgrims worship Arunachaleswarar by circumambulating the Arunachala Hill barefoot. This circumambulation covers a distance of 14 kilometers (8.7 mi) and is called Girivalam. It usually takes 3-5 hours to complete, depending on your speed and the number of stops you make.
